Does getting a tattoo
hurt?
Yes it hurts but it varies from person to
person. It depends on where the tattoo is placed on the body and the size of
the tattoo. Your body will get use to the level of discomfort within the
first couple of minutes of receiving a tattoo.
What should I do to make the
session go well?
Prepare mentally for it as well as
physically by being in good health, be rested and have a meal before hand.
Don't stress as it's rarely as painful as you expect. DO NOT smoke weed or
consume alcohol! No artist will tattoo you. Besides alcohol thins out the
blood which results in poor intake of colors.
Bring your ID ~ you must be 18+ in order to get tattooed. Most importantly
show up on time.
Do you have designs to choose
from?
We sure do. We update our collection of top
quality flash frequently. Keep in mind that we do custom work too. You can
also bring in your own design. We enjoy all kinds of styles here at Tatunka
Tattoo so we are happy to discuss what you have in mind.
Your tattoo will be there forever so a bit of time working on the design is
more than worth it! Even if you have a piece of art which is kind of what
you want you should bring it in so at least we have an idea of what you are
after.

What type of tattooing do you
do?
All kinds! Fineline black and grey work,
custom and freehand, full-color and traditional etc...whatever you require.
We also do cover-ups and restorations. If you look in the gallery area there
is a photo of a cover-up in progress so you can see what's possible. Privacy
is available at your request.
What is the cost of a tattoo?
The price varies but most shops have a fixed
hourly rate. You should more concerned with the quality of the tattoo as it
will be there for life. A poor tattoo will cost you in the long run - and
not just in pride but the price of a cover-up and/or lazer treatments! If
you are after a rough idea of how much you might be up for phone the studio
but for a more exact price you will have to show the design to the artist.
How long will it take to
heal?
About 2 weeks. You will have avoid soaking
the tattoo during that time and direct sunlight onto it as well. No swimming
or picking at scabs. All of these things will result in color dropping and
possibly infection. Tattooists will inform you as to how a tattoo should be
looked after during the healing process when the tattoo is done. You have
spend time, pain and money on this artwork which will be with you for life
so it's worth investing your time and a little more money in the healing and
preservation of it.
